The BIG Move

With all the shifting and changing of our living arrangements, we needed to get things settled into the house. To make room the carpet layers, the one bedroom dedicated as our ‘tool room’ had to be moved, but where too?
At first, we moved every tool back to the living area for the carpet installation. The only way to make room to get our tools out of the house was to move furniture in from our Dry Box storage that was already jam packed. and the way to do that was to get our flooring done in the main living area. I wish I had taken a before and after picture because it was a mess. I’ll attach one photo that shows what the dining area looked like before we got to that.
Because of the enormous amount of work, we took a week off, in fact, a full nine days. We cleared out everything in the living area and put the rest in the dining area. Jer went to work on the floor. He did an amazing job and once he made it a little past the living area he stopped. The next day would be moving furniture in. What fun, but hard. One of the few things we didn’t get rid of was our couch and I had forgotten how big it was. It kind of swallowed up the room. There was one full-size bedroom set that we decided to sell. It sold quickly. We gave some other things away to people who needed them.
This made room to move our tools out to the storage, or at least the ones Jer didn’t immediately need. After that we cleared the kitchen and dining area for him to complete the flooring downstairs area. I was finally able to unpack my kitchen but where was I going to put it all? Our grand plan was to leave early Father’s Day to drive three and half hours away to buy a used snow blower. Essential up here. Then a couple of hours to IKEA for some more shelves, dinner at a protein smoothy joint, and off to a friend who was giving us a bedroom set and several other items. After our two-hour drive back, we went straight to bed that night, not even bothering to unload.
The next day we were at it again. While we didn’t complete everything, and there was still missing furniture and décor, I somehow fit all my kitchen items into the cabinets. Yay! It was now livable! The house was becoming our home.
